Owners appreciate the seamless digital features, spacious interior, and affordable running costs. Comfort is generally good, though some mention a firm ride and occasional quality concerns. The combination of power and economy
Switch to a newer model when the time comes, for the increased 10% range and refinement
This is the best car I’ve owned. I’m lucky to have it. This is my first EV and follows a 3 series BMW which had a 3ltr straight six and great handling and what many would regard as an excellent traditional ‘petrolhead’ experience. The Model Y is a different type of drive - a touch more clinical but hugely enjoyable in its own way and in a different league in many respects. I’d equate the experience to when I reluctantly retired my trusty Nokia in exchange for an iPhone. The tech is great and the screen is a doddle to get used to. Initial setup takes a few minutes but is then saved to your profile and you’ll never have to think about it again. The software has really been thought through and is an integral part of the car. The app is brilliant and there are so many little touches designed to make life easy. I’ve tried public charging networks as well as Tesla superchargers and Tesla is way ahead in terms of convenience, cost and reliability- to the extent that I wouldn’t consider any other electric car at the moment. I have enhanced autopilot, which is impressive and works brilliantly. One scenario where it is particularly useful is in stop-start motorway traffic queues as it takes much of the stress out of those situations. The ride on this (it’s classed as a 2023 model year) is better than many early reviews suggest - it’s firm but controlled and not crashy. The performance is sufficient to make you laugh outloud/terrify your grandmother/both at the same time, but it’s incredibly stable and always controlled. I’d absolutely recommend you try one if you think it meets your needs. If you objectively consider the car and if you want speed, practicality and access to the most convenient electric charging network then this would be hard to beat.

The most well thought out car I have ever had. Even after 20k miles I still look forward to driving it. Company Car and I have a home charger so cost is very low to run. Super Charger network is fantastic and easy to use.
Standard range model and would always like a little more range (250 Real World in summer and 220 in Winter).
Fantastic family car and difficult to fault.

It’s been bulletproof - 3.5 years and 40K miles and all we’ve spent money on is a set of tyres.
The depreciation!
It’s been a fantastic family car. So cheap to run on Octopus energy. Our third Tesla and they’ve all been great.

It's a Tesla. So it's divisive because of the owner. However if you separate the individual from the engineering, it's an objectively excellent car for me. The range is fantastic - I don't do a lot of 250 mile+ journeys, but on annual drives to Cornwall or regular runs to relatives it just...works. The Tesla network is excellent, and the way in which this works with the car to plan your journey, stopping and charging times is fab. I can't honestly think of many occasions on those long trips where I've had to wait for the car at a stop. It's usually the other way around. Technology is excellent. No CarPlay, but the infotainment is very good. Speed and performance is plenty enough for me. The space is incredible - just a LOT of storage between the frunk, the boot and the under boot. Ride and handling is where the car is less amazing. It can be clunky and a bit harsh, and my kids find riding in the back less pleasant than our Kodiaq. I think this is an EV issue (lack of noise/vibration and hard acceleration) rather than a Tesla one.
Ride/handling could be more compliant, but the new one is sorting this.
I'll get another one, no matter how much of a lunatic Elon is.

Combination of space, pace and efficiency
Make the ride fractionally more supple
Great to drive. Relaxing on motorways, handles well on B roads, effortless and supremely practical. App is awesome and the tech is genuinely impressive.

I walk up to it. It unlocks. Sit down in 'easy Entry' seat position. Touch brake pedal. Seat adjusts to my preferences. Put in gear - and it just goes ! No messing with keys, locking or unlocking or Start/Stop buttons. When I return I walk away and it locks - and puts itself into Park if I forget.
My wife 'insisted' on the prettier 20" wheels. These make the ride firm. I would prefer a softer ride with 19" wheels.
Fantastic !

I love the driving experience, the comfort of the seats and I particularly like the ‘keep’ feature that keeps the air con on when I’m not in the car as well as the well in the boot. I also particularly like the design
I’d increase the range and eliminate rattling

The available storage in the Frunk and under the boot. Charge network and infrastructure
Reliability
After over 30,000 miles I can't recommend this car. The build quality is awful, the auto wipers don't work, and the constant phantom braking is dangerous. The storage space however is amazing as is the charging infrastructure. The customer service is truly awful.
